I will discuss the use of D-dimensional generalised unitarity in next-to-leading order calculations of LHC processes. Fundamental building blocks of these calculations are primitive tree-level QCD amplitudes. I will show that these objects obey interesting relations which can be understood with the help of 'Dyck words'
