We will discuss generic properties of amplitudes in field theories both at tree and loop level and including supersymmetry. We will see how employing new analytic techniques, some amplitudes can now be computed with greater ease than previously. We will also discuss new algebraic relations for amplitudes such as the existence of color-kinematics dualities (BCJ) between color ordered amplitudes in Yang-Mills theory.
